Check it out: Combi Rice Toppings

In theory, I love to discover new places, but unfortunately, I don’t get to go out and find those places for myself. At least I don’t do it as often as I’d like to! I’m just grateful that I have friends with enough initiative to take me out to these places so that I get to experience something new.

Last week, I had set some time together with my friend Jem to hang out and catch up, something we hadn’t been able to do in months. Instead of the usual coffee shops, I’m glad that she recommended that we go somewhere else and that’s how we ended up here…

If you’re looking for a charming yet affordable place to eat with good food, do what Jem did for me (thank you Jem!!!) and take a friend to Combi Rice Toppings at Quezon City’s Maginhawa strip. It’s one of those places that you might miss if you’re just driving by, but if you stop and enter, it’s almost guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

I liked the place instanly. Even though it’s a simple and small–or shall I say “intimate”–place, the colors made me happy!

I wish I brought my camera! It looked like it would be fun to just snap away. It’s great that Jem brought hers though, so thanks to her, I get to post these cool photos. Here’s a peek at what we ordered:

My order: Chicken Parmesan = YUMMY!

Jem's order: Mapo Tofu (I was too busy w/my food that I didn't get to taste her order, but she said it was good, too!

The best part: FRIED COOKIES (Oreos, actually!) - I not much of a chocolate fan because I don't like desserts that are too sweet, but I thought this was just right!

I’m definitely going back to try the rest of the stuff on the menu…and I’m craving for those Fried Cookies. :) Oh, I almost forgot the best part: everything on the menu ranges from 49 to 89 pesos only! Isn’t that awesome?

Combi, I shall return! :)
